A family of three was discovered dead in an apparent double-murder suicide at their Towson, Maryland home.

On August 18, the Baltimore County Police Department responded to a welfare check and discovered the bodies of Yogesh H. Nagarajappa, 37, Prathiba Y. Amarnath, 37, and their son Yash Honnala, 6. According to law enforcement sources, the victims had suffered fatal gunshot wounds.

The Baltimore County Police Department believes Nagarajappa was the perpetrator behind the incident. The Chief Medical Examiner is currently investigating the specific causes and circumstances surrounding their deaths.

The family was last seen alive on August 15.

Originally from India, Nagarajappa had lived in the United States for nine years, according to The Indian Express. Both he and his wife, Amarnath, were software engineers and were well-regarded in their field.

A family member has initiated a GoFundMe campaign to raise funds for repatriating the remains of the deceased to India. The campaign has garnered significant support, collecting more than $35,000.
