Comedian Bill Cosby in Legal Trouble Again

Comedian Bill Cosby is facing yet another lawsuit.

The latest lawsuit is from singer Morganne Picard, who accuses him of drugging and raping her during the late 1980s.

Court documents indicate that Picard, then an emerging musician, was invited by Cosby to The Cosby Show’s set in 1987. Over the subsequent years, until 1990, she alleges that Cosby provided her with drinks on many occasions that caused her to be intoxicated. Picard’s account states that after one such instance at Cosby’s residence, she later regained consciousness in a hotel room, disoriented and with discomfort in her genitals.

The lawsuit suggests that Cosby acted without Picard’s consent during her incapacitated state. Beyond Cosby, the lawsuit also names Kaufman Astoria Studios, Astoria Studios LP II, the Carsey-Warner Company, and NBCUniversal as defendants, accusing them of negligence.

The Adult Survivors Act, under which the lawsuit was filed, remains effective until Thanksgiving 2024. This act permits adult victims to pursue legal action against alleged abusers, irrespective of the Statute of Limitations.

Bill Cosby, previously convicted in 2018 but later released from prison in 2021, has consistently denied all allegations. Numerous other women have made similar accusations against him.
