Shiv Grewal, a distinguished British stage actor aged 60, experienced a life-changing adventure when he went into cardiac arrest on February 9, 2013. The incident took place in southeast London following a meal.

During the seven minutes when his heart stopped, Grewal recounted unique sensations of detachment and heightened emotional experiences in an indescribable space. His narrative includes feeling weightless, witnessing astral phenomena, and engaging with alternative life paths. Despite these revelations, Grewal’s intention remained firm: to return to his life with Alison, his wife.

Thanks to prompt medical response, including a surgical procedure and an extended induced coma, Grewal was resuscitated. The event left him with epilepsy due to brain oxygen deprivation.

Drawing inspiration from his close brush with mortality, Grewal featured his creativity in an art exhibition named “Reboot” at the Karma Sanctum Soho hotel in London. The display, available until September 24, visually translates his near-death perceptions. His artistry encapsulates his journey, providing insight into the realms he witnessed.

With a renewed perspective on life, Grewal accentuates the importance of kindness, urging people to lead lives filled with purpose and compassion.
