A six-year-old boy was rushed to the hospital with traumatic injuries after slipping from a rollercoaster ride on Thursday, August 3 in Kissimmee, Florida.

The young boy, who remains unidentified, had been seen standing on the Galaxy Spin ride, according to witness accounts shared on social media.

Emergency units responded promptly to the scene to find the child trapped beneath the rollercoaster track, about 20 feet above the ground.

The ride, known for its twists and turns at speeds of around 30 miles per hour, requires riders to be at least 4 feet tall to ride alone or 3.5 feet when accompanied by an adult, as stated on the company’s website.

The injured child was transported to Arnold Palmer Hospital for treatment, but his current condition remains unknown. The Florida Department of Agriculture has launched an investigation into the incident.

The Fun Spot America park has temporarily shut down the Galaxy Spin ride to conduct a thorough investigation. The company claims that the ride was up to code and had recently undergone inspection.

This incident is not the first of its kind in the area. Last year a 14-year-old named Tyre Sampson died after falling from the 400-foot Free Fall ride at Orlando’s ICON Park.

An investigation revealed that Sampson had exceeded the weight limit and his harness was not properly secured, leading to the ride’s subsequent removal.

Some parkgoers have raised concerns about the safety standards of “third-party parks,” highlighting a need for increased scrutiny and oversight in the industry.

Authorities and park officials have been urged to be vigilant ensuring that visitors can enjoy rides without compromising their safety.
