Maryland authorities are searching for a 21-year-old woman, the prime suspect in a crime at Keith & Sons Soul Food Cafe, that resulted in the death of a 62-year-old man. The incident occurred on July 8 in Prince George’s County.

According to reports from the Prince George’s County Police Department, an altercation occurred between Mervyn Daniel, 62, and Raykia Poston, 21, inside the restaurant. Employees had to intervene and separate them. Poston and a companion, 37-year-old Jesse Culley, left the cafe but returned shortly after.

Witnesses reported that Poston claimed she was looking for a missing $10 and threatened, “I will kill everybody in this store.” She resumed arguing with Daniel while Culley entered through a rear door with an object believed to be “a piece of wood.”

Poston allegedly grabbed a butter knife from the counter during the confrontation and stabbed Daniel. After the attack, Culley and Poston were caught on surveillance footage leaving through the rear entrance and escaping in Culley’s van.

Emergency responders found Daniel seriously injured and unresponsive. He was taken to the hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.

The police discovered a bloodstained knife and a cell phone hidden on a shelf in the restaurant’s kitchen. Culley is currently in custody, but Poston remains at large and is wanted for first-degree murder and related charges.

Authorities are investigating the matter to unravel the motives and circumstances of the crime.
