A tourist died at a luxury resort’s water slide when he made a mistake that cost him his life. The incident, caught on video, initially went unnoticed by fellow resort-goers.

The deceased, Ali Cilga, aged 65, was enjoying a vacation with his family at a premier resort in Manavgat, Turkey. On June 26, he suffered a catastrophic accident while sliding head first down a water slide and striking his head against the pool’s concrete bottom.

The video evidence shows a number of swimmers unknowingly passing Cilga, not recognizing the serious nature of the incident. However, a few sharp-eyed tourists eventually noticed his lifeless form, quickly pulling him from the water. Efforts to revive him were made by a man believed to be the resort’s lifeguard.

It has been reported that Cilga had previously been warned by the lifeguards about the dangers of going down the slide head first, but he did not heed the advice.

Following the incident, Cilga was rushed to a nearby hospital. His injuries were critical, leading to his death on July 3.

The Cilga family was visiting the resort to celebrate the Eid al-Adha holiday when the incident happened.

An autopsy has been ordered by the authorities and an investigation into the precise circumstances of Cilga’s untimely death is ongoing.
