A mother of four was fatally shot by a cashier at a gas station convenience store in Las Vegas, reportedly over an unpaid salad.
According to law enforcement records, the victim, identified as Mallory Angel Armijo, 35, was shot dead at a local 7-Eleven in the early hours of Friday, June 23.
The deceased’s sibling, Rachel Wright, claimed that the confrontation leading to Armijo’s death began with an argument over a salad that was not paid for. Wright stated that Armijo had taken the salad because her companion was hungry and they did not have the means to pay for it. The dispute with the cashier quickly spiraled into a physical fight outside the store.
During the ensuing brawl, Wright recounted that the cashier attempted to snatch Armijo’s handbag, causing her to fall. A passerby stepped in, asking the cashier to release Armijo. As Armijo was departing the scene, she was shot three times in the back and later pronounced dead at Sunrise Hospital.
While Wright admitted that her sister should not have taken the salad without paying, she emphasized that her sister’s actions did not warrant the fatal response she encountered. Wright depicted Armijo as a loving mother of four and a compassionate individual, calling the incident a needless act of violence.
Furthermore, Wright alleged that the yet-to-be-identified cashier had a history of criminal behavior, including accusations of throwing boiling water on someone and engaging in a physical altercation in a car park. The cashier was still on the job at the 7-Eleven when the incident occurred, despite these previous allegations.
