Prince Harry is reportedly contemplating a step back from the glamorous Hollywood life that he and Meghan Markle have been navigating since departing from royal duties in 2020.
Despite his known preference for privacy, the Duke of Sussex’s potential withdrawal from the entertainment industry is raising eyebrows, especially after the cancellation of Markle’s Spotify podcast, “Archetypes.”
With Meghan, 41, immersed in strategic planning for her next project, sources hint that Harry, 38, may prefer a less public, more subdued role. This conjecture follows an article in the Daily Mail that queried how well the prince is adapting to the showbiz environment.
Despite this, Netflix has voiced confidence in their collaboration with the Sussexes. A representative from the streaming service confirmed that their deal with Archewell Productions remains strong. This comes after the documentary “Harry & Meghan” was cited as Netflix’s most successful debut in that category. The couple also has other projects, including the documentary series “Heart of Invictus,” lined up following their $100 million agreement with Netflix in 2021.
The termination of Markle’s podcast, for which she had struck a $20 million deal with Spotify, may be a factor in Harry’s introspection. The podcast saw the release of only 12 episodes, featuring celebrity guests like Serena Williams and Paris Hilton, before ending.
Furthermore, Meghan is rumored to be in talks with Dior as her talent agency, William Morris Endeavor, looks to rebrand her image. Harry’s potential withdrawal from Hollywood could thus signal a divergence in the couple’s path, attracting global attention.
