Famous singer/actressMadonna, 64, was admitted to a New York City hospital ICU on Saturday night, June 24, after being found unresponsive.

Reportedly, she was subjected to intubation for one night and hospitalized for several days. She has since been released from the hospital but according to TMZ, sources say she has been vomiting uncontrollably, is bedridden and is still fighting off her infection.

Guy Oseary, Madonna’s manager, acknowledged the initial hospitalization and posted on Instagram. He revealed that the celebrated artist contracted a severe bacterial infection, which necessitated a stay in the intensive care unit.

Madonna was discharged from the hospital on Thursday, June 29, and her manager remained hopeful about her recovery. Nevertheless, all upcoming engagements involving Madonna, including her “Celebration” tour set for a July 15 kickoff in Vancouver, have been paused. The tour, meant to mark her 40-year musical journey, was to visit 43 cities around the globe until January 2024.

Oseary stated that the tour is on an indefinite hiatus, and news regarding the rescheduling of shows will be relayed once available.

The singer had conceived the tour as an ode to New York City, where her musical career first took root. Additional details regarding Madonna’s illness and her hospitalization have not been released, although sources close to Madonna say she was pushing herself too hard in preparation for her tour.
