In a recent incident at Caesars Palace on the renowned Las Vegas Strip, police say a man barricaded himself inside a hotel room, allegedly holding a woman hostage at gunpoint and hurling furniture out of the window.

Responding to a domestic disturbance call around 9:15 am on Tuesday, July 11, SWAT teams from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Bureau arrived at the scene. A man and woman were seen arguing and the man pulled the woman into a room by force. Commander Stephen Connell clarified that the nature of the relationship between the man and woman remains unclear.

However, he assured the public that the woman had not suffered any harm, even after hours of the tense standoff. The man was arrested and the woman was released.

Initial attempts by law enforcement officers to establish communication with the man inside the hotel room met with resistance as he refused to open the door. Additionally, the man claimed to be armed, although the police were unable to confirm the presence of a weapon at the time. Commander Connell dismissed previous reports of gunshots, suggesting that the noise was caused by the man hurling objects out of the hotel window.

Videos shared on social media captured the alarming sight of furniture being thrown from a broken hotel room window, casting a disturbing atmosphere around the popular resort. For around an hour, among the items seen thrown were a hair dryer, coffee maker, seat cushions, chair, bureau and coffee maker, according to hotel guests who were seated in the pool area.

Eyewitness Brooke Cantrell, a guest at the hotel pool at the time, expressed her shock upon witnessing someone shatter a window on an upper floor and forcefully toss a chair through it. As a precautionary measure, the police evacuated the pool area while keeping the rest of the hotel operational.

Caesars Palace released a statement acknowledging the security incident and emphasizing their full cooperation with the ongoing investigation led by law enforcement officials.
