A driver lost her life when her SUV veered too close to a tractor-trailer carrying loads of logs, resulting in the logs being propelled off the trailer and onto the woman’s vehicle, causing significant damage.

The casualty of the tragic incident, a 25-year-old woman from Fernandina Beach, Florida, unfortunately succumbed to the injuries she sustained.

The collision took place in the early hours of Tuesday, July 18, in the Yulee community, which lies approximately 24 miles north of Jacksonville. The Florida Highway Patrol reported that the victim was driving east on Buccaneer Trail, also known as State Road 200, when her SUV came too close to a semi-truck loaded with logs.

Investigators believe the SUV did not maintain an adequate distance from the truck and subsequently collided with the logs on the trailer at the junction of Buccaneer Trail and Felmor Road.

Emergency services responded to the scene and the woman was transported to a Jacksonville hospital. However, despite their best efforts, she was pronounced dead upon arrival.

The 28-year-old male operator of the tractor-trailer escaped the incident without any injuries.

The accident is under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.
