Former First Lady Melania Trump was spotted at Trump Tower in New York City on June 8, appearing unfazed, just before her husband, Donald Trump, faced 37 felony counts related to the alleged mishandling of federal documents at his Mar-a-Lago resort. Melania, 53, concealed her expression behind sunglasses and carried a Chanel handbag as she entered her New York City home on Thursday afternoon.
A few hours later, Donald Trump, 76, took to Truth Social to announce that he had been indicted on seven charges, including some under the Espionage Act. Trump’s lawyer, Jim Trusty, confirmed that the charges appeared to stem from an Espionage Act violation but noted that the specifics were not clear.
Melania’s appearance at Trump Tower comes less than a month after Donald excluded her in a heated Mother’s Day post aimed at the “Radical Left.” Despite rumors of a “transactional marriage,” sources suggest that the couple is “more bonded than ever” following Donald’s announcement of a 2024 presidential campaign. However, Melania has remained silent about Donald’s recent indictment, which carries a maximum prison sentence of 75 years if convicted on all counts.
The charges against Donald Trump include willfully retaining national defense documents, conspiring to obstruct justice, withholding documents, corruptly concealing records, concealing a document in a federal investigation, scheming to conceal, and making false statements.
Melania was notably absent from her husband’s speech at Mar-a-Lago in April after he was arraigned on charges related to hush-money payments to adult film star Stormy Daniels.
Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, a former aide and confidante of Melania, said that while Melania is aware of her husband’s affairs, she remains silent out of dignity. Wolkoff believes Melania will stand by her husband, expressing that she is not humiliated by the affairs but rather angry. Melania has yet to make any public statements about the recent indictment.
