Nine people were injured in a shooting that took place on Monday, June 12, in downtown Denver, Colorado.
The incident occurred around 12:30 am, about three hours after the Denver Nuggets won against the Miami Heat in the NBA. At that time, Market Street and its vicinity were filled with basketball fans who had gathered to celebrate the team’s success.
Although most of the revelers had already left the area, a small crowd still remained when the suspect opened fire. Of the nine people injured, three were in critical condition and were immediately transported to the hospital, while the remaining six sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect also sustained injuries, but it is unclear whether they resulted from a return of fire or another cause.
