Game show host, Drew Carey, made a major announcement during the filming of the 51st season of “The Price Is Right.”

The venerable CBS series will be leaving the famed Bob Barker Studio in Television City, Hollywood, and the startling development was announced to fans via an Instagram video from the show’s official page on June 23.

Sharing his thoughts on the move, Drew Carey said, “For 51 years, this iconic stage has been our home. I would tell people that there was magic imbued in the wood, because of the joy and laughter that has resonated here throughout the years.”

The show’s final episode at the Bob Barker Studio aired on June 26. Drew Carey took on the mantle of host in 2007, succeeding the renowned Bob Barker, who retired at 83.

Drew also expressed his gratitude for the privilege of sharing the same stage as legends such as Bob Barker and Carol Burnett, and how grateful he is for the opportunity to be a part of such a remarkable legacy. Nevertheless, the announcement of the departure from the well-loved studio has left several fans taken aback.

The show will transition to its new home, Haven Studios in Glendale, California. Drew Carey was hopeful that the positive energy from the old studio would accompany them to the new location and encouraged fans to tune in to the last episode filmed in the iconic stage and to bring a positive spirit to the new locale.

While some fans are excited about the move to the new studio, others are expressing their melancholy feelings over leaving the much-loved Bob Barker Studio that was the heart of the show for more than fifty years. The decision to leave such a historic site has sparked curiosity and questions among fans.

As an end of an era approaches, “The Price Is Right” says goodbye to its long-standing filming location and steps into a new phase in Glendale.
