Two Dead, Three Injured at Music Festival Shooting

A shooting incident at the Beyond Wonderland dance music festival on Saturday, June 17 resulted in two fatalities and three injuries.

The festival, organized by Insomniac Events, took place at The Gorge Amphitheater, around 150 miles east of Seattle in George, Washington.

According to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, the shooting broke out around 8:20 pm in the festival’s camping area. The gunman indiscriminately opened fire into the crowd, causing two deaths and injuring three others. Law enforcement apprehended the shooter, but his identity, along with those of the victims, has not been released.

Kyle Foreman, a public information officer from the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, said that they have yet to establish the motive for the shooting.

As a result of the incident, the second day of the two-day festival, originally scheduled for Sunday, June 18, was canceled. Beyond Wonderland expressed gratitude to local authorities and staff for swiftly managing the situation, and offered their deepest condolences to the families and friends of the victims.

The canceled lineup for Sunday was set to feature renowned electronic artists such as Marshmello, Afrojack, Subtronics, among others.

This unsettling event has left the community and festival-goers in shock, with questions looming over the motive behind the shooting. Investigations are ongoing as authorities continue to gather more information on this tragic incident.
