A young woman jumped to her death from the top of a hotel in Times Square.

A couple’s heated fight in New York City turned tragic when the woman, later identified as 20-year-old Dezirae Andersen, plummeted to her death on Tuesday, May 2.

Andersen fell from the top of a hotel after engaging in a heated fight with her boyfriend, who allegedly assaulted her and put their eight-month-old daughter in danger. According to police sources, the couple from Littleton, Colorado caused extensive damage to their 10th-floor room at the OYO Times Square hotel on West 47th Street during a violent argument.

Sources describe the situation inside the room as chaotic, with Andersen being repeatedly punched by her boyfriend, identified as 24-year-old Tyler Griffen, which resulted in visible bruises. The fight spilled into the hallway, where Griffen allegedly forcefully yanked the baby’s arm, causing the infant to fall down a flight of stairs. Thankfully, a quick-thinking hotel guest caught the child, who, though unharmed, was taken to the hospital for evaluation as a precaution.

Authorities say the young mother then fled to the hotel’s roof and jumped down. Tragically, she struck the second-floor scaffolding, and first responders pronounced her dead at the scene. Meanwhile, police found Griffen displaying erratic behavior in the hotel lobby and they had to use a Taser to subdue and arrest him. He was later taken to Bellevue Hospital as police considered him emotionally disturbed.

Griffen now faces several charges related to the horrific incident, including assault, reckless endangerment, and acting in a manner injurious to a child. Investigators do not believe he threw Andersen off the hotel roof, and it remains unclear whether he intended to harm their child. According to law enforcement, the Administration for Children’s Services will likely assume custody of the baby girl.
