Emma Heming Willis, wife of celebrated actor Bruce Willis, 68, recently shared updates on the actor’s health and their family life on social media.
Diagnosed earlier this year with frontotemporal dementia, Bruce Willis has been receiving unwavering support from his family, including his nine-year-old daughter, Evelyn.
In a heartfelt video posted on Instagram, Heming Willis recounted an incident where their daughter took the initiative to look up “facts about dementia” and crafted a dedicated list for her father. Despite the grave nature of the subject, Heming Willis expressed amusement as both Bruce and Evelyn share a love for intriguing facts.
She lauded Evelyn’s kindness and her proactive measures to understand her father’s condition and reassured that they would always ensure that Bruce has a bottle of water near him, as recommended by Evelyn. Heming Willis recognized this as an extraordinarily empathetic act.
Bruce Willis and Heming Willis also have another daughter, Mabel, who is 11 years old. In addition, Willis has three daughters – Rumer, Scout, and Tallulah Willis from his previous marriage to Demi Moore. Recently, he has also become a first-time grandfather.
Willis initiated his acting career in 1985 with a role in the TV series Moonlighting. His big break came in 1988 with the iconic character of John McClane in Die Hard, which spawned two sequels and raked in over $700 million worldwide. Since then, Willis has been a significant part of many successful films, including Pulp Fiction, Mercury Rising, Armageddon, The Expendables, and RED.
The news about Willis’ frontotemporal dementia was made public in February this year, following his aphasia diagnosis announcement the year before. Frontotemporal dementia is a condition that arises from an excess accumulation of proteins in the brain, causing damage and shrinkage of the frontal and temporal lobes.
