On January 4, Michael Haight, an Enoch, Utah father, killed his wife, five children, and mother-in-law before taking his own life.

Police recently confirmed that Haight left a suicide note, which blamed his wife Tausha for his actions, accusing her of manipulating and controlling him.

Haight had a history of violent behavior, throwing his son to the ground and intimidating his children.

The police had body cam footage of the gruesome murder scene, which revealed an eery silent home.

Haight removed firearms from the house days before the shooting and searched for “gunshot in a house” online. Tausha had filed for divorce and informed the authorities that he had threatened to commit suicide or harm her if she left him. The authorities had already initiated an investigation into the family based on allegations of abuse involving their older daughter, but Tausha requested they delay interviewing Haight until after she filed for divorce.

Haight was investigated for child abuse in 2020, but he was never charged. His daughter Macie reported that he had committed multiple violent acts against her, including choking and throwing her against a hard part of the couch. Haight denied assaulting her and admitted that he got angry sometimes.

The tragic event caused widespread shock and devastation in the small town of Enoch, Utah, emphasizing the importance of protecting vulnerable members of society from abuse and violence. The investigation into the Haight family’s case is ongoing as authorities seek to prevent similar occurrences in the future.
