Former President Donald Trump made several unsubstantiated claims that President Joe Biden is to blame for the leak of classified Pentagon documents that was recently announced this week. The leaked documents contain sensitive material regarding intelligence and the war in Ukraine, and have been circulating on social media.
On his Truth Social platform, Trump referred to the breach as “the worst leaks” in US history and blamed President Biden.
The origin of the leak has been traced to a Massachusetts National Guard serviceman. Jack Teixeira was arrested at his home in North Dighton, Massachusetts by FBI agents on Thursday.
Trump and his followers have intimated that Biden was the leak source, but others speculated that Russian intelligence agents were behind the leak, before Teixeria was arrested.
The leak raises concerns about allies’ trust in sharing information with US intelligence agencies and exposes the vulnerabilities in Ukraine’s air defense system.
Trump’s social media post shows once again his criticism of his Democratic rival. He has previously referred to the current problems in the US as “Joe Biden’s America,” referring to the migrant crisis, supply-chain issues, soaring crime rates, and other issues he raises in his campaign to challenge Biden in the next presidential election.
