The mother of rapper Flo Rida’s six-year-old son has filed a lawsuit against a building management company after her son fell from a window in Flo Rida’s fifth-floor apartment in New Jersey.
The horrifying incident happened at the rapper’s New Jersey apartment complex last month.
According to court documents submitted to the New Jersey Superior Court on March 27, Flo Rida’s son, six-year-old Zohar P. Dillard, was seriously injured on the property after plunging from a fifth-floor window and landing on the concrete.
The lawsuit lists Dillard and his mom, Alexis Adams, as plaintiffs against the management company and several other construction companies.
Steven P. Haddad, Adams’ attorney, has demanded a jury trial, saying that the building’s managers are at fault for not installing window guards. He also claims the management has been negligent, reckless, and careless in managing the building and its safety, creating dangerous conditions.
The lawsuit accuses the management of installing incorrectly sized window guards even though the windows were on the fifth floor, breaching the management’s duty of care.
Adams said the ordeal felt like a nightmare, especially because her son was a special needs child.
Dillard’s injuries include multiple pelvic fractures, liver laceration, internal bleeding, left metatarsal fractures, and collapsed lungs. The boy is still recovering from his injuries in an ICU.
Flo Rida, who has been quiet since his son’s fall on March 6, finally opened up about his son’s condition on social media on Thursday, March 30, thanking everyone who reached out.
He wrote on his Instagram stories that Dillard was getting the best medical care and described his son’s survival as a miracle. He asked everyone to continue praying for his boy.
