New Jersey law enforcement found a horrific scene in Roselle on April 19, resulting from a domestic dispute.
Police have arrested a suspect for the murders of a 45-year-old woman and her daughter in their New Jersey home. The victims, identified as 45-year-old Keisha Morrison and her nine-year-old daughter Kelsey Morrison, were found dead on April 19 in their home.
Investigators determined that the mom and child were axed to death during a domestic dispute with a family member, according to Atasha Scott, the slain woman’s sister-in-law.
The Maryland State Police identified the person of interest in the case, Everoy J. Morrison, 44, after making a traffic stop on a stolen silver BMW with a New Jersey registration, where they apprehended him.
Everoy, who had been living in the home’s basement and is the half-brother of the dead woman’s husband, was taken into custody in Maryland on charges related to the stolen car. He is being held at a detention center in Baltimore, awaiting extradition to New Jersey.
According to Scott, Keisha Morrison had asked Everoy to leave the house but he refused. Keisha’s husband, Gary Morrison, discovered his wife and daughter’s bodies wrapped up in sheets under a bed. He also found the axe used to commit the heinous crime hidden under a mattress. Scott told NBC New York that there were signs of an attempted cleanup on the floor, as if someone had tried to remove blood stains.
The nine-year-old was about to celebrate her 10th birthday a few days after the brutal murder.
