During spring break in Mexico, a college student from New Jersey was killed when he fell off a third-floor hotel balcony while trying to assist a woman staying on the floor above him.
Henry Meacock, an Ohio State University student, died on March 15, according to his obituary. He was 19 years old.
Meacock was staying at the Melia Hotel in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, during spring break when he fell.
The medical examiner and the Jalisco Attorney General both agree that the death was accidental. They claimed Meacock was attempting to climb from one balcony to another when he fell through a Plexiglas platform.
According to conflicting reports, the victim was attempting to assist a young woman in retrieving a dropped phone or identification card from the hotel’s balcony above him.
Different stories emerged on Facebook posting here-say about what happened. Meacock tragically stepped on the Plexiglas, which buckled beneath his feet.
Meacock was remembered on social media as a true gentleman with a warm and generous heart.
On Saturday, March 25, Meacock’s funeral was held at a Catholic church in Westfield, New Jersey.
Meacock was the Melia Hotel’s second guest to fall from the third floor this month. A 23-year-old man was more fortunate and escaped harm.
