Keith Moses, 19, shot T’yonna Major, 9, twice in her torso after gaining access to the girl’s Harrington Drive home in Pine Hills, Florida through the back door at around 4 pm on February 22.

According to a police affidavit, the nine-year-old girl ran into her mother Brandi Major’s bedroom, where she was taking a nap, and woke her mother to tell her that an intruder had just shot her. By the time of the incident, Moses was already wanted by police after they identified him as the shooter in the death of Nathacha Augustin, 38, about five hours before he shot the nine-year-old and her mother.

Police found Augustin lying next to a car belonging to Moses’ cousin. When questioned, the cousin told police that he and Augustin offered Moses a ride before he opened fire and shot the woman dead.

According to the affidavit, Moses later returned to the crime scene and attacked a Spectrum News 13 in Orlando crew covering Augustin’s shooting.

The deranged man fatally shot 24-year-old Dylan Lyons, a reporter, in the front passenger seat of a Ford Escape. Lyons succumbed to his injuries an hour later at the hospital. Moses also shot and injured Jesse Walden, a photographer.

Moses, a known gang member, was initially charged with Augustin’s death, to which he pleaded not guilty.

Moses has an extensive criminal record including several felony and misdemeanor arrests related to gun charges, burglary and assault.

Additional charges were leveled against Moses on Tuesday, including two counts of murder in the first degree, two first-degree attempted murder counts, and burglary.

Investigators don’t have a motive for the shootings but said that Augustin was an “acquaintance” of Moses.
