Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban gave photographers and attendees of the 2023 Academy Awards a public display of affection on the red carpet.
The couple, who wed in 2006, posed for photographs and delighted their fans. They took some alone time and passionately kissed, with Kidman placing her hand on her husband’s cheek.
Some fans found their kiss endearing, while others found it uncomfortable.
One commenter wrote, “We should all have someone who looks at us like Keith and Nicole do.”
At the glamorous event, both the Grammy-winning country singer and the world famous actress wore all-black attire. Kidman wore a dazzling one-sleeve black sequin gown with hip and shoulder flower accents. Her thigh-high slit gown by Armani Privé was accessorized with diamond jewelry and black shoes.
Kidman was honored to serve as a presenter at Hollywood’s most prestigious event. She has been nominated for five Academy Awards since 2002, most recently for the 2022 film “Being the Ricardos,” and she won the award for Best Actress for her performance in “The Hours” in 2003.
Kidman stated that mingling with her fellow actors was her favorite part of the evening. On stage, she and actor Idris Elba presented the award for Best Director. She was thrilled to see so many people she admires and loves in one evening. Kidman also said that she enjoys being able to express gratitude to someone while holding their hand and looking them directly in the eyes, and she had the opportunity to do so throughout the evening with a number of celebrities.
Even though his film “Top Gun: Maverick” was nominated for Best Picture, Kidman’s ex-husband, Tom Cruise, did not attend the ceremony. According to sources close to Cruise, his absence from the Oscars was due to scheduling conflicts and had nothing to do with his ex-wife Nicole Kidman.
