Surveillance video inside a Las Vegas bus showed a passenger stabbing another man over 30 times as the bus driver kept driving despite the victim’s pleas for help.

Fifty-nine-year-old Aaron Cole was charged with the February 26 stabbing of 30-year-old Dominique Lucas following an argument between them on an RTC bus.

A Clark County grand jury was shown the horrifying surveillance footage, which shows the two men sitting near one another when an altercation starts.

Lucas tells Cole he isn’t bothering him moments before Cole lunges toward him. Lucas, seemingly anxious about the situation and wanting to avoid an escalation, is seen moving toward the front of the bus and telling the driver to open the doors so he can get off the bus.

However, the driver does not stop the bus, and instead continues on the route. Cole walks up to Lucas and starts stabbing him several times. The driver doesn’t stop even as Cole continues to stab the screaming passenger.

The horrifying attack lasts about four minutes. At some point, the bus doors briefly open and close back up.

The driver activates a panic button and asks Lucas, who has already been stabbed several times if he wants to get off the bus. Not finished with his victim, Cole gets up and starts stabbing Lucas again.

According to the police, the attack began at 4:50 pm, and the bus stopped five minutes later. The driver and the passengers ran out, and the police arrived at 4:58 pm.

Lucas crawled out of the bus and succumbed to his wounds. Cole did not get off the bus.

According to court documents, the bus driver said he did not open the doors in the middle of the road and he couldn’t stop the bus and get up to help the victim.

Keolis North America, the company that employs the driver, said that the bus driver could not open the doors to avoid one of the passengers running into oncoming traffic.

Cole had already been arrested for an unrelated assault ten days before the stabbing.
