Johnny Depp has resurfaced once again and spoke out about the kind of lifestyle he leads these days.

Depp spoke to the UK publication “Somerset Life Magazine.” He revealed that he has been leading a quiet life in the English countryside, away from the paparazzi.

According to the Oscar-winning actor, the biggest appeal of living far away from Hollywood is living peacefully under the radar while doing normal tasks like grocery shopping or walking about.

The Pirates of the Caribbean star told the magazine that British people were nice and cool and would greet him without going over the top.

The star said he does not mind if people want to talk to him or want him to sign an autograph, but he prefers that to happen when he is not having some private time with his family. Depp has two children – a boy and a girl.

Depp said that his life now allows him to go out to shops without being surrounded by paparazzi and people wanting to take pictures with him, which he does not mind, but sometimes can get too crowded.

According to Depp, his preference for a quieter, low-key lifestyle might shock many, but he considers himself a shy person, making his current living arrangements perfect for him.

Depp reportedly purchased the Somerset property, a 19th-century style mansion with 12 bedrooms and eight bathrooms, in 2014.

Talking about why he bought the house, the actor said that he loves places with character, adding that he has various homes in different places, and they all have a special meaning.

Depp said he loves Britain because the country is full of history and buildings with character.

The actor has been out of the spotlight since the widely publicized defamation case against his ex-wife, Amber Heard, in 2022. The jury voted in favor of the actor, and he was awarded $10.3 million in damages.
