John Travolta Breaks Down in Tears at Oscars

Famous film and television actor John Travolta paid an emotional tribute to his classic film “Grease” co-star Olivia Newton-John, who died in August 2022 at the age of 73.

Travolta delivered the moving tribute during the Oscars’ In Memoriam segment. He didn’t say her name, but Travolta made it clear that he was referring to Newton-John when he presented a well-known film song lyric.

One of the perks of being an actor, according to Travolta, is that they get to do what they love for a living, and sometimes even with people they care about. Because the night was dedicated to celebrating the previous year’s work, the actor felt it was appropriate to remember those who had died after dedicating their lives to the perfection of their profession and skills, both on and off the screen.

Travolta, visibly moved, stated that their performances had left an indelible mark on the industry, influencing and shaping many. He went on to say that the deceased had made people laugh and had become dear friends to many, and that we will be ‘hopelessly devoted’ to them forever – a reference to the famous song from “Grease.”
