Famous actress Cameron Diaz will no longer star in movies and is reportedly set on retiring from the industry once again.
The award-winning actress says she will retire for good after wrapping up filming for the upcoming Netflix film, “Back in Action,” starring Jamie Foxx, so she can focus all her attention on being a mom and a wife.
A source close to the star said that the back-to-back 10-hour shooting days had taken a toll on Diaz, who has been away from her three-year-old daughter, Raddix, adding that the actress loves being a mother more than anything.
According to the source, Diaz’s husband, Benji Madden, has been very supportive of her comeback, but her time on set and away from them has been weighing heavily on him too.
Although Diaz’s family has been visiting her on set while filming, it is not the same.
Madden, 44, and Diaz, 50, married in 2015 and had their daughter Raddix in 2019. Diaz announced that she was retiring from acting a year before they welcomed their baby.
However, the actress surprised her fans when she announced her return to the filmmaking industry to star alongside Academy Award-Winning actor Jamie Foxx, 55, in the Netflix comedy film, reportedly set to be released in 2024.
The flick was, however, plagued with drama after Foxx allegedly threw a fit on set and fired an executive producer, his driver, and two directors.
The drama did not seem to affect Diaz, as she is reportedly still on good terms with Foxx and his tantrum apparently had nothing to do with her decision to retire again for good after the film.
The source defended Foxx’s decisions saying that, when someone is in a position of authority, they sometimes have to decide to fire people who do not have the same vision as them, adding that they would be surprised if the meltdown caused any friction between Diaz and Foxx.
According to the source, Diaz understands the business they are in and Foxx was the only reason she came out of retirement, adding that the two were still very close.
The last film that Diaz starred in alongside Foxx, before her retirement, was “Annie.”
