What was supposed to be a normal day for a family of four in Las Vegas turned tragic when two young boys were hit by a bullet, killing one of them.

When tragedy struck, the two boys, ages nine and six, were watching the popular cartoon “SpongeBob SquarePants.”

SirArmani Clark (nicknamed Armani), 9, was sitting on the couch with his younger brother, Honor Tate, 6, on Friday, March 10, when a bullet pierced the apartment wall, striking Armani and killing him.

Their mother, Justine Tate, told reporters that if she could have taken that bullet instead of her son, she would have done so in a heartbeat, adding that she would rather the boys lived without a mother than lose their lives.

According to reports, the fatal bullet struck Armani in the head before striking Honor in the leg.

After hearing a gunshot from another room, the parents dashed into the living room.

Tate recalled the events leading up to finding her son in a pool of blood. She said that they ran into the living room. They heard the younger boy whimper, but Armani was silent.

According to the mother, the nine-year-old was found unresponsive. She remembered seeing his head drop to the side.

Armani was declared dead at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center. Honor is recovering from his injuries.

The couple had only moved to Las Vegas from Reno with the boys about a week before the tragic shooting.

Tate stated that it has been difficult for Honor, who keeps asking for his older brother and refuses to leave the house.

A neighbor showing off a new gun fired the bullet. The bullet from the neighbor’s gun went straight into the apartment, striking the two boys.

Authorities apprehended the unidentified neighbor and discovered he was a convicted felon.

It is unknown what charges the man will face.
