During a freak accident at a Pennsylvania indoor amusement park, an eight-year-old boy was dangling by his neck from a rope ladder.

The terrifying event occurred inside King of Prussia’s Thrillz Flying Adventure Park.

According to Upper Merion Police, the child was climbing a rope ladder when he became entangled and began hanging by his neck. The youngster was spotted in surveillance footage climbing down the rope ladder head first, according to amusement park owner Lisa Cannon.

Two off-duty police officers freed the youngster, who was already unconscious when he was lowered from the ladder. The park personnel quickly cut the rope and helped the boy down.

According to Cannon, the park’s safety monitors assembled a response team comprised of employees, two off-duty cops, and a nurse. Within seconds, her crew had taken the boy down and communicated with the park’s CPR and first aid team.

The youngster regained consciousness a short time later and spoke to first responders before being brought to Paoli Hospital, where he is stated to be in stable condition.

The boy was with his family at the park, according to police, and the incident was considered an accident.

Although the park remained operational for the rest of the day, the rope ladder was closed until extra safety precautions could be installed.

Cannon said in her statement that the rope ladder conformed with the regulations of the American Society for Testing and Materials, but to be safe they will further improve the security of the rope by replacing it with a softer and tighter one.

One of the parents, who was there with her son and nephew at the time of the incident, said it was a terrifying ordeal for the kids, and many youngsters and adults were crying.
