Nathan Millard, 42, went on a business trip on February 23. On Monday, March 6, he was found dead.

According to reports, the Georgia executive went to a Louisiana State University college basketball game. He called his wife during the game. He was last seen at Happy’s Irish Pub in Baton Rouge. Millard left the location at around 11:30 p.m. to go back to his hotel, the Courtyard Marriott, located around two minutes from the bar.

Millard did not return to his hotel room and when the room was checked the following day, it was discovered that the guest had not slept in his bed.

Texas EquuSearch founder Tim Miller said that their organization assisted in looking for Millard. They told WAFB media that a report was made to law enforcement that there was a foul smell near Scenic Highway.

The Baton Rouge Police Department said that Millard’s body was found wrapped in plastic and a carpet at around 3:34 a.m. in a vacant lot on Scenic Highway. The location is a seven minute drive from the bar where he was last seen.

Millard was a construction director from Georgia. He was married and had five children.

The missing man’s cell phone was found a few blocks away from the bar, and a surveillance video showed a man trying to use Millard’s credit card. According to Baton Rouge police, the card user was questioned and released.

East Baton Rouge Coroner’s Office shared the preliminary autopsy results on Tuesday and reported no sign of trauma or evidence that the man had been hit or beaten. The cause of death is still pending.
