Famous actress and “The View” co-host Whoopi Goldberg scoffed at Republican and former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley’s big announcement on Tuesday that she would be running for the 2024 presidential nomination on the Republican ticket.

During a segment of the show, an advertisement from Haley’s new presidential campaign, which included a string of videos, was played, and Whoopi was not having any of it.

She went in on Haley for not admitting that the US was not the greatest country in the world and was not perfect, and accused her of being unable to differentiate right from wrong.

Goldberg, who looked visibly upset by Haley’s announcement, addressed her, saying that it appears she has been asleep and just woke up, and found out that many things in the US are not perfect. Goldberg said that Haley’s expectation for people to pretend that the country was perfect and that nothing bad had happened was ridiculous, adding that the politician was not saying anything new to voters.

Goldberg did not let up on Haley, adding that she, of all people, should know better, considering she used to have some sanity and could differentiate between right and wrong, but at some point, Haley lost her mind and decided to go in another direction.

According to the advertisement, Haley’s parents, who are from India, reminded her daily how blessed they were to live in America, that the country’s founding principles were not bad, and that the promise of freedom was not made up.

She also critiqued everyone who accused her of referring to American ideals as “evil and racist,” saying that it was far from the truth.

Haley responded to Goldberg’s comments on social media, tweeting that liberals’ heads explode at the thought of her running for the land’s highest office.

However, Goldberg’s co-host, Alyssa Farah Griffin, defended Haley’s decision, saying she was the best Republican to run for the presidency.

Although Griffin’s support of Haley was met with resistance from the other co-hosts, she said she was excited for Haley to run against Trump, saying Haley was a better candidate than the former president.

Griffin said she had witnessed Haley in action at the UN, taking on dictators, and said that Haley was the smartest person in every room they had shared.

Goldberg laughed at Griffin’s remarks, but that did not stop Griffin from supporting the Republican, adding that Haley was someone she could believe in and that she was a huge step forward from Donald Trump.

Haley is the second Republican to announce their 2024 presidential bid after Donald Trump’s announcement.
