An Avondale, Ohio mom and her two boys died in a murder-suicide on Friday, February 3.
The tragic incident occurred just six months after her estranged husband killed their young daughter in a murder-suicide.
When officers arrived at a house after receiving a 911 call, they found three unconscious individuals, each suffering from a gunshot wound.
According to the Hamilton County Coroner’s Office, Darlene Flores, 38, and her 16-year-old son Rodrigo Johnson, both died by homicide, while her 19-year-old son Eric Johnson Jr. appeared to have committed suicide.
Six months ago, 40-year-old Eric Johnson Sr. shot and murdered his six-year-old daughter, Iyla Johnson, before killing himself. Mount Healthy police were called regarding a custody dispute at the Lake of the Woods Apartments, according to the department.
While Johnson barricaded himself in the bedroom with his daughter, SWAT team officers tried to convince him to return his six-year-old daughter Iyla to her mother, Darlene. After an hour-long stand-off, authorities found Johnson and his daughter’s bodies dead with gunshot wounds in the bedroom.
