Michigan police announced they found missing teenager Adriana Davidson dead on Monday, January 30. She was last seen three days before on January 27, near Pioneer High School in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
A spokesperson for the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office said that police found Davidson’s lifeless body at around 1 pm on Monday under the bleachers near the high school’s athletic field and that her body had no apparent signs of injury.
The County Sheriff’s Office posted an update on Facebook saying that the preliminary investigations did not show foul play.
Davidson, nicknamed Addy, did not return home from school on Friday, January 27, which prompted her parents to report her missing. A city-wide search and rescue operation followed.
Davidson’s friends and schoolmates reported that they last saw her at around 11 am on Friday outside the school. Davidson’s brother, Anthony Lopez, informed the police that someone had found his sister’s phone near the tennis courts inside the school on Friday. The person retrieved the phone and returned it to one of Davidson’s best friends.
Davidson arrived at the school in the morning via public bus but told her friends she wasn’t feeling well. She left the school and returned by public bus at noon, and was seen on video. It is unclear where she had gone. She did not go into the school. According to her brother, she texted with a friend at 12:26 pm. Her friend asked her if she was okay, and she said no. The friend didn’t hear from her after that. Police are investigating what happened to her after she returned to the school, and was found on the athletic field.
On Saturday, January 28, Lopez wrote on Facebook that a student told Davidson’s friend that they had seen her at the bus stop with a man wearing all black, but they did not seem to know each other.
Her father told reporters he suspected foul play, adding that it is not normal for teenagers to leave their phones unattended and not contact anyone.
Police are now in possession of her phone. Further information will be released after the autopsy results are ready. Police believe the girl was alone when she died, based on video footage.
