A policeman’s and tourist’s brave actions can be seen in CCTV footage, when they managed to free an intoxicated driver from his vehicle moments before it caught fire.

Officer Derek Stebbins of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and tourist Justin Mouser raced to force open the doors as the automobile started to burn in front of onlookers.

Mouser rushed in to assist after Officer Stebbins shouted for people to stay away from the automobile.

The driver crashed into a palm tree and a median on the Las Vegas Strip at approximately 4:30 p.m. on January 27.

Together the two rescuers were able to remove the unconscious driver from the front seat and haul him away from the car.

The man was brought to the hospital along with the officer, according to police.

Another video captured by a bystander shows a crowd forming and attempting to shatter the windshield before the policeman arrived.

Officer Derek Stebbins said that the driver would have been burned in the vehicle and probably would have died if they hadn’t pulled him out.

Justin Mouser, the tourist who rescued the victim, is a barber in Kentucky and was vacationing in Las Vegas with his wife when the horrifying incident took place.

The police department praised Mouser as a hero, saying that his swift actions saved someone’s life.

After being treated at the hospital, the rescued driver will be charged with DUI.
