A Philadelphia Eagles fan broke into a fire station in Florida on Sunday night after the team lost to the Kansas City Chiefs, ransacked the bunk rooms, ripped off a uniform hat, and urinated on the floor, before throwing a meat cleaver at a firefighter who tried to stop him.

Twenty-five-year-old Edward Dalasandro, a Philadelphia native, broke into the Hutchinson Island Fire Station in Martin County on Sunday night at around 10 pm and tried to leave with about $126 in cash, a uniform hat, and knives, according to a statement by the Martin County Sheriff’s Office.

District Fire Chief Tom Hornbostel said that the 25-year-old man somehow got into the station through a back door without anyone noticing, and police were still investigating how exactly he got in.

According to the Fire Chief, Dalasandro first entered the bunk room, which houses the firefighters’ lockers.

He said the person went through all the lockers, opened them, and started ransacking. His escapade led him to the cash, a meat cleaver, and knives.

He entered a hallway where he bumped into a firefighter, who immediately called for his colleagues and alerted them that something was wrong.

Firefighters escorted the man outside but did not let him leave, and that’s when the disgruntled fan allegedly threw a meat cleaver at them. Luckily, no one was hurt.

Authorities said the firefighters held Dalasandro down until law enforcement officers arrived and took him into custody.

According to the Fire Chief, the fire station was the second building Dalasandro had been forcibly removed from that night.

Martin County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy John Budensiek said the man had been removed from a bar earlier that night for being very intoxicated and aggressive.

Police released a mugshot of him with a black eye, wearing an Eagle’s shirt.

Investigators tried to interview and question him about his actions, but he was not cooperative. Deputy Budensiek said he was swearing at everyone, including the police, firefighters, and hospital staff who tried to treat him, but would not say anything else.

Authorities charged Dalasandro with aggravated assault on a firefighter, armed burglary, and theft. He is being held at the Martin County Jail on a $120,000 bond.

The Philadelphia Eagles lost Super Bowl LVII to Kansas City Chiefs 38-35 on Sunday night.
