Buckingham Palace has released details about the upcoming coronation of the new King of England, King Charles III. The last coronation of a British monarch, which happened 70 years ago, was only a one-day event that lasted about three hours, but the ceremony will be different this time.
Even with the release of Prince Harry’s book “Spare,” Buckingham Palace is back to business as usual, as they gave out the details of what the world can expect during the coronation, slated to be a three-day event.
While the coronation is a religious event that will be held on Saturday, May 6, at Westminster Abbey, the weekend will be a celebration of the historical event, which will include a concert, a grand luncheon, and a volunteerism opportunity.
Although the palace has been tight-lipped about the guest list, there is no doubt that royal family members and dignitaries from around the world will be in attendance.
With their controversial exit from the royal family, their gossipy Netflix documentary “Harry and Meghan,” and Prince Harry’s tell-all memoir, “Spare,” it is unclear whether Harry and Meghan will be welcomed to the ceremony.
When asked whether he would attend the coronation, during an interview with ITV Harry said that a lot could happen between January and May, but he left that up to the palace.
