A shooter stood over a teenage mother and her 10-month-old baby as they tried to escape a brutal attack in a home in Central California, and shot them both in the head.

Officials in Tulare County released new information about the massacre in Goshen, California on  Monday, January 16 that left six people dead, including a 72-year-old grandmother, a teen mom, and her 10-month old baby.

Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, Tulare County Sheriff Mike Boudreaux said that the 16-year-old was running away from the house with her baby when the killers caught up with her on the street outside the home and shot both the mother and baby “assassination style.”

Sheriff Boudreaux identified the victims, who were part of the same family, as Rosa Parraz, 72; Marco Parraz, 19; Eladio Parraz Jr., 52; Alissa Parraz, 16, Nycholas Parraz, 10 months and Jennifer Analla, 50.

Law enforcement deputies are looking for two suspects and announced a reward of $10,000 to anyone who comes forward with information leading to the suspects’ arrests.

Officers received a call about heavy gunfire in the Harvard Road neighborhood at around 3:30 am on Monday, January 16. Upon arrival, deputies found two victims on the street and a third in the house’s doorway. They found two more victims in the home and one who was still alive. They rushed him to the hospital, but he died shortly after arrival.

The two victims found down the street were the mother and baby.

It was later learned that a survivor who hid inside the house had called 911. Three people managed to survive the slaughter.

Sheriff Boudreaux said that even though at first they believed the attack was linked to a cartel, authorities were not ruling out gang violence related to drug trafficking.

Police had a warrant and searched the house about a week before the shootings and recovered marijuana, methamphetamine, guns, and money. They had arrested 52-year-old convicted felon Eladio Parraz, but he got bailed out a few days later, and was killed in the shooting on the 16th.

According to Boudreaux, even though the home had gang and drug activity history, not everyone there was a gang member or drug user –  referring to the 16-year-old and her innocent baby, and perhaps the grandmother.
