A five-year-old boy wandered off from his suburban Detroit, Michigan home near the Saravilla Apartment complex in the middle of the night. The temperature was below freezing. He was found dead by police officers in a snow-covered playground near his house.
Clinton Township Police reported that the child’s family called 911 on Monday, January 23, after the boy disappeared.
The boy’s mother said she last saw him in bed at 10 pm. He was wearing an undershirt and underwear.
Officers searched the surrounding area and discovered the child unresponsive in the playground early Monday morning.
He was rushed to a nearby hospital but was pronounced dead.
The police have not revealed when the boy wandered away from his house or how he got out.
