During her recent performance in Las Vegas, Adele waddled across the stage and told her fans about her chronic back pain issues.
The 34-year-old star had a flare-up of her condition during the performance, and had to struggle on stage as she sang and threw tee shirts into the crowd with a cannon.
“Rolling in the Deep” Adele lamented about her sciatica issues, and even laughed about the way she walked.
The performance was held at the Colosseum at Caesar’s Palace, in a series called “Weekends with Adele,” on New Year’s Eve in Las Vegas.
The British singer’s Las Vegas performances shocked people when they heard about her ticket prices. A VIP package, called the Emperor Package, costs $5 million but you get a lot of perks, including a 5-night luxury hotel room, 12 Paddock Club Formula 1 tickets, a meal prepared by Chef Nobu Matsuhisa, a 24-hour butler, and an opportunity to hear Adele sing and talk about her sciatica.
Other ticket prices range but some are in the thousands.
It is Adele’s first time opening up about her health struggles, although she previously talked about being in pain for more than half her life before her dramatic weight loss and how that helped her cope with the pain.
Adele spoke to Face Magazine in 2021, explaining how much her life had changed since losing over 100 lbs. She said she slipped several disks in her back. Adele recalled that she was 15 when it first happened, and she was sneezing when the disk slipped. The second occurred in January 2021, when her sixth disk slipped after a C-section.
She said that she had back pain for almost half of her life, and it flares up when she is stressed or sits in a bad posture. She explained that losing weight helped her to run around with her son a little more.
Adele’s weight loss became a popular online topic after her 2019 divorce and her reappearance in the spotlight. She said her weight loss helped her anxiety.
Adele split from her ex-husband, Simon Konecki, in 2019 after eight years of marriage. She started going to the gym and changed her lifestyle, including quitting alcohol.
