A shocking video reveals a massive freight train crash into a semi-truck at a railroad crossing in Tennessee, Tuesday afternoon, December 20, 2022.

The tractor-trailer was carrying a 134-foot concrete truss bridge beam and got stuck on the railroad crossing due to its huge heavy load. The driver couldn’t clear the tracks in time.

After the collision with the tractor-trailer, the train derailed. The Collegedale Police Department shared updates about the accident on Facebook.

Videos of the wreck show several of the train cars tossed on their sides in a wooded area near the railroad tracks.

Amy Maxwell, the spokesperson for the Hamilton County EMS, told reporters that the truck was headed to a new construction site and was carrying the huge concrete barrier.

The truck driver escaped injury.

Maxwell confirmed that the Norfolk Southern train hit the construction truck, causing ten of its cars and three of its locomotives to derail.

According to a media outlet in Chattanooga, Tennessee, paramedics rushed two members of the train crew to local hospitals with minor injuries.

Authorities reported that the train was leaking diesel fuel, but they determined that the spill was not a threat to local residents.

Several local witnesses recorded the footage on their phones and posted the videos, which went viral on Twitter, with tens of thousands of views in just a few hours.

Train crashes are not usual, but cause major clean-up problems and sometimes fatalities.

In September 2022, a train crashed into a police car near Platteville, Colorado, and caused brain injuries to a woman. The woman was sitting in the back of the police car that an officer had parked on railroad tracks. An approaching train struck the vehicle and seriously injured the passenger.

In June, a train collided with a dump truck in Missouri. The train flipped over, and three people died. More than 200 passengers were on board the train.
