Saratoga Man Accused of Posing as Doctor on a Dating App and Abusing Women

A 37-year-old Saratoga, Florida man has been charged for posing as a doctor on a popular dating app and performing an unlicensed botox injection on a young woman. The charges come barely after the accused avoided a jail sentence after he was prosecuted for a similar case in Miami, court records show.

Brody Amir Moazzeni faces a felony charge for practicing medicine without a license. The case was filed in Santa Clara County on November 16, and he was arraigned in court on December 14. If convicted of the charge, Moazzeni faces one year in jail.

Santa Clara County Deputy District Attorney Ann Huntley confirmed that the charges were initiated by a 26-year-old Stockton woman who met Moazzeni through the Bumble dating app. On the app, the defendant uses the alias Gianni Muzzati.

The investigative officers said that the woman knew the defendant as Gianni Muzzati when they began a romantic relationship on September 21, 2021. She thought he was a doctor, and when they met at a Sunnyvale hotel, Moazzeni allegedly offered to give her a free botox injection in her torso and face.

District Attorney Huntley said that a few weeks later, the victim noticed that her right eyelid was drooping, and when she visited an ophthalmologist, she was informed her procedure was not done correctly. After getting treatment, the victim said Moazzeni continued to pressure her into doing more cosmetic work, which led her to question his qualifications, the woman told investigators.

The suspicion was fueled by the defendant’s refusal to prove his medical background.

State records showed later that he had no medical qualifications and that he had been evasive when she asked to see his clinic, Huntley said.

Due to his inconsistency and refusal to show her his clinic, the woman reported her suspicions to Sunnyvale police, and the District Attorney’s Office took over the matter.

According to local reports, in March 2021, Moazzeni was charged with sexual battery involving a woman in Miami Beach, Florida, and practicing unlicensed medicine.

Other sources say that the defendant dated a woman he met through a friend and lied to her that he was a cosmetic doctor. He reportedly invited her to his home, where he administered injections in her face, arms, and legs. And when she reported the bad reactions, he sedated her and had non-consensual sex with her.

Other court records show that the prosecutor in Miami-Dade County filed seven felony cases and misdemeanor charges against Moazzeni, but unfortunately pursued only two felony counts and one misdemeanor count, all relating to practicing unlicensed medicine. The same record shows that Moazzeni participated in a pretrial diversion program to avoid conviction and jail time.

Huntley said that given the man’s manipulative nature, there could be many cases out there and the women might feel used and taken advantage of given the sensitive nature of the case.

Huntley also confirmed that there is no evidence showing the defendant had ever asked for money for the procedures.

Huntley concluded that the actions could be a power and control thing. The defendant is out of jail and expected to return to court on February 28.
