Lynisha Hull is inconsolable. Her beautiful baby girl’s body was found by the police near the Ocean Boulevard bridge in the Los Angeles River in Long Beach, California.
The child’s father is accused of throwing one-year-old Leilani Dream Burley off the bridge into the water.
Lynisha is shocked and cannot understand how he would do such a thing to his daughter.
On Sunday, 22-year-old Jayveyon Burley picked up his two children, three-year-old Zayveyon and one-year-old Leilani, from their mother’s home in Long Beach.
Burley usually picked up the children on Sunday and would return them on Wednesday.
Burley, who was living with his mother in Inglewood, California, returned to his mom’s home with the boy. The grandmother reported Leilani missing. It is unclear what story Burley told his mother.
Lynisha Hull, the mom, said that Jayveyon Burley was overprotective with the kids but never violent.
She said that she didn’t have an argument with Hurley when he picked up the children, but that he seemed to be upset, and drove off erratically. She said she didn’t see a reason to be concerned.
According to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, Hurley faces a count of murder and assault on a child causing death. His motive is being investigated by the police. His arraignment will be on January 10, 2023.
Burley has a criminal record. He was arrested in 2018, when evidence showed he and others robbed a Domino’s Pizza delivery driver at gunpoint. Police believe Burley was also involved in other local robberies.
Hull told NBC media in Los Angeles, “My son keeps asking me, ‘Where’s baby? Where’s baby?’ I can’t even tell him.”
