Lawyers are working around the clock preparing to defend Hunter Biden against potential investigations once the Republicans regain control of the United States House of Representatives next year.
A team allied with President Joe Biden’s son met in September to strategize their next moves and file defamation suits against some of Hunter’s accusers.
Kevin Morris, Hunter’s attorney and long-time friend, suggested they go after Rudy Giuliani, Fox News and Eric Trump. He also wants a probe launched into the repairman who handed Hunter’s laptop to the authorities.
The President’s son has come under intense right-wing scrutiny in recent years over his allegedly shady business dealings in China and Ukraine, and there are also accusations that President Biden was involved in the dealings while in office. House Republicans have repeatedly pledged to launch investigations into the President’s conduct while in power, which could create more scandal.
Attorney Morris told the group that Hunter’s legal team needs to be more aggressive. He also outlined research on two people who might be potential witnesses – Tony Bobulinski, his former business partner, and John Paul Mac Isaac, the computer repairman who turned over Hunter’s computer to the FBI.
Authorities are still investigating Hunter’s finances as Twitter answers why it suppressed Hunter’s laptop leak story.
According to news media, the lawyers have two competing approaches to dealing with the threat by Congress. First, Hunter’s team can become more aggressive and go after Hunter’s critics. Second, Hunter can keep his head down and wait for the stories to die down.
The more aggressive plan involves a team working with two attorneys, including Joshua A. Levy, to run interference with probes by the US House, and Chris Clark to deal with federal investigations into Biden’s son.
The White House prefers that Hunter keep his head down as he is a private citizen and should not be an appropriate target for Republican lawmakers. The more the President’s son is in the limelight, the more the Republican-controlled House will justify going after him.
John Paul Mac Isaac, the man who owned a computer repair shop and alerted the FBI of alleged incriminating content that he found on Hunter’s laptop, said that he was not surprised that liberal media had refused to cover Elon Musk’s revelations about the cover-up of Hunter’s photos by Twitter.
Musk recently shared emails published on Twitter by Matt Taibbi, a journalist talking about former Twitter executives trying to repress the Hunter Biden story in the run-up to the 2020 presidential election.
Twitter’s new CEO, Elon Musk, called the tweets “Twitter Files,” and he accused his predecessors of colluding with Joe Biden’s campaign team. Internal emails from Twitter support the claims that the social media platform did repress reporting on the story.
According to Andrew Kerr, an investigative reporter, several deleted tweets have damning images of Hunter Biden obtained from his laptop.
Emails were sent by Biden’s team to Twitter executives telling them to review and delete the derogatory tweets.
Files on Hunter’s computer allegedly included emails of suspicious business deals with foreign officials and racial slurs.
The Biden administration has repeatedly denied being involved in the censorship of the Twitter posts.
