King Charles III might bar his son, Prince Harry, from attending his upcoming coronation ceremony if Harry’s book slams Charles’ wife, Queen Consort Camilla.
A source close to the Queen Consort said that the new King has been trying very hard and doing everything in his power to get his wife accepted by the public. The source said that the new King loves his wife and is very protective of her, adding that Harry can attack King Charles III, and the King can take it, but if Harry’s book condemns Camilla and he is forced to choose between his son and his wife, he would choose Camilla.
Another source said that although Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, were on the invitation list, they still could get uninvited.
Sounds like things are not going well in the relationship between the King and his second-born son.
The prince’s memoir, scheduled to be released early next year, is supposed to be an honest, tell-all account of his life as a royal. He is expected to talk about his parents and their marriage and the blow-by-blow events that led to the collapse of their marriage, which was caused by King Charles’ affair with Camilla, which according to the late Princess Diana, was going on throughout their marriage.
Before Diana died, she spoke to Andrew Morton, the author of Diana, Her True Story. She told him that she did not consider Camilla innocent in the affair and blamed Camilla and Charles equally for their continued affair.
Andrew Morton, in his other book, Diana: In Her Own Words, said that Camilla had invited Diana out before her wedding and had asked her if she would be accompanying Charles hunting after their wedding, to which Diana said she would not.
Later on, Diana realized that Camilla and Charles were going hunting together to continue their relationship.
The team around King Charles III is worried about what the book will reveal because the King will be devastated if Harry’s book attacks Camilla’s character.
Although Harry has never attacked Camilla in the same way he has attacked his father, accusing him of not taking calls and cutting off his finances, he has never publicly acknowledged Camilla’s elevation to the Queen Consort.
While King Charles would love for Prince Harry and Meghan to attend his coronation, there is a level of respect that he is expecting from them in return for his continued efforts to extend them olive branches, which he has done several times.
He will reportedly not put up with unfair and inaccurate attacks on Camilla and the monarchy. Just like the late Queen Elizabeth II, he will be a ruthless protector of the institution.
The concern about what the Duke and Duchess will do and the secrets Harry might reveal in his book are the biggest issues hindering reconciliation between the couple and the rest of the royal family.
Harry has been trying to rewrite his memoir, especially the parts about the new King and Queen Consort, causing a delay in the book’s release, which was initially set to come out later this year.
