An Ohio man is going to federal prison for (only) 40 months for making the life of CSI: Miami star Eva LaRue miserable for more than 12 years.

LaRue is also known for her role in the soap opera “All My Children.”

The 58-year-old man, James David Rogers, told her he would stalk her until the day she died.

He was sentenced on Thursday.

He not only threatened the actress, but her daughter as well.

The harassment started in 2007, at which point he started sending her and her daughter several letters. He threatened to rape, torture and kill them. At the time, her daughter was only five-years-old prosecutors said.

He menacingly signed his letters, “Freddy Krueger,” referring to the murderous creep in the movie, “A Nightmare on Elm Street.”

In 2015, he targeted LaRue’s daughter directly, in a letter letting her know she was on his radar as well. She was only 13 at the time.

The culprit, a nurse’s assistant at an assisted living facility, was arrested by the FBI at the end of 2019 after leaving a voicemail for the girl’s school, where he threatened to “rape her, molest her, and kill her” while saying he was “Freddy Krueger.”

In addition to his prison sentence, which means he’ll be out in a few years, he will also be on probation for three years, according to NBC News.

LaRue said she is relieved that the man is finally being put behind bars and she won’t have to worry about him for the next few years.

The man’s letters and message were graphic and disgustingly described what he wanted to do to the two. LaRue described the letters as the “next level heinous evil.”

Although LaRue and her daughter changed their residence several times, the stalker managed to find her. She went through a nightmare and slept with a weapon near her bed.

It’s amazing that she had to endure such abuse for so many years, and that the man could be out on the street again to harass her.

Although arrested in 2019, he reportedly pleaded guilty in April, 2022, and was sentenced in September 2022. Justice works very slowly.

Rogers was charged with stalking, mailing threatening letters, and “threats by interstate communication.”

“There’s no way I could erase that kind of anxiety. It is emblazoned on my soul and my daughter’s soul,” LaRue said.
