Police found a tiger cub in the home of a Dallas rapper who was arrested for federal gun possession.
Rapper Trapboy Freddy, a/k/a Devarius Dontez Moore, 30, was arrested at his Oak Cliff home on one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, according to Chayna Humphrey, who is a spokesperson for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
While the US Marshal’s Service was serving the warrant, they were surprised to find the baby tiger in a cage.
Now, the rapper could be charged with not only possession of a weapon, but possession of a tiger.
Dallas Animal Services removed the cub. It is against the law to have a dangerous wild animal in a residence according to the Dallas city code.
Trapboy Freddy had a previous felony conviction and was arrested for possession of a Taurus TCP .380 firearm. He pleaded not guilty in court and was released upon an agreement that he would not keep any firearms or dangerous animals in his home, according to court documents.
The singer also has a lengthy criminal history, related to organized crime activity, assault, drugs and other criminal activity.
As a result of his arrest, he will not be allowed to travel outside north or east Texas without court approval.
It wasn’t really a secret that he housed a tiger. He flaunted it on social media.
The cub was taken by the Texas Department of Parks and Wildlife.
